Today I feel like death warmed over. Been fighting a cold and this morning I have definitely been dragged behind enemy lines. Yesterday was our guild’s sew Saturday and I made a jelly roll quilt. Learned a valuable lesson. After sewing the strips together, just kind of make long arm-length folds. DO NOT ROLL the strips. We spent about 20 minutes getting that fixed. What can I say? It seemed like a good idea at the time.
So I used my jelly rolls, gave away a jelly roll, gave away my UFO and some additional fabric, and made a back. And got a fat quarter in an exchange. Still in the red territory, but hoping I’ll change that this week. And still within my goal. Put a border on the X-block quilt, and made the backing.
Also, it was a pretty busy week–guild meeting, my volunteer week, very busy at work (worked late one evening). So I didn’t have nearly the sewing time I normally would.
As I mentioned, my alligator quilt (was my UFO for February, and March, and I guess now April ) is still in progress and has actually made it onto my frame. At present, I have quilted the top border. It will be totally freehand quilted, no pantos. I did a little light marking to help me place the background design around the applique.

Congratulations on getting your alligator quilt on the frame. I know what you mean about fighting a cold. I’ve been doing the same thing for the last 3 days. Yesterday I finally surrendered. Maybe I should have done that sooner. I feel much better this morning.
Hope you get to feeling better soon. Congrats for being in the black.
Thanks Kate. I am not in the black yet. However, I am almost there.
ok–came here from stash report–but really laughed about feeling sorry for a vendor and buying fabric you really didn’t like or need!!
